NEW YORK CITY (AP) - A federal judge on Wednesday granted an initial injunction to stop the U.S. Department of Labor from closing down Job Corps, a property program for low-income youth, until a claim against the move is solved.

The injunction bolsters a temporary limiting order U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter provided previously this month, when he directed the Labor Department to cease removing Job Corps trainees from housing, ending tasks or otherwise suspending the across the country program without congressional approval.

Founded in 1964, Job Corps intends to help teenagers and young grownups who struggled to end up standard high school and find tasks. The program offers tuition-free real estate at domestic centers, training, meals and healthcare.

"Once Congress has passed legislation specifying that a program like the Job Corps should exist, and set aside moneying for that program, the DOL is not complimentary to do as it pleases
